so here's where i get thinky again: i think at the end of the day, what it comes down to is that you always want to show rather than tell, and that often means adding more, rather than taking some out. i mean, i'm open to going through it at the end with the intention of shortening it, but i think everything we've added makes it stronger in some way. so i'm not terribly worried :)

also, it's charles. if a story about him weren't hugely long, how would you know that you had the right charles f. xavier?
